A few words from the composer…
“There is a road that winds through anticipation and wonder, exhilaration to disorientation,
and ultimately — toward home. Aeterna Via (The Eternal Way) traces that journey across
seven movements. With a cinematic flow, the music unfolds seamlessly from one
movement to the next, as choir and orchestra share equally in the role of storyteller, and
each movement is titled to mark a new stage of the journey.
The texts are drawn from diverse sources, offering poetic reflections of our shared human
experience, expressed through the ordered reason of the philosopher, the luminous vision
of the mystic, and the raw human emotion of the psalmist.”
The Masterworks Singers are honored to bring this new work to Paris, France, this June as part of the Hagenberg International Choral Festival.
