At Home Preschool

St. Catherine's Preschool offers an At Home Preschool option for preschoolers from September through May this school year. This option is for families who want to continue to teach their children at home but may not have the resources or time to develop lessons. Each set of lessons will be emailed monthly and set up so that you can choose from a variety of activities for your child. There will be a general "script" that you can follow daily with ideas for the beginning, prayers, songs, stories, activities, bible study, crafts, finger plays, snack time, and a closing. If there are days that you want to do a few activities or songs instead of the whole script… that works, too! You can select 1-2 lessons or do all of them each week. You are the teacher! We provide an outline of fun and interactive learning lessons for you and your child. 

At-Home Preschool Lesson Plans

• Teachers will provide child-centered "At Home Preschool" lesson plans each week. These lessons will be easy to follow, including materials you already have at home, and be based on a common theme with various play-based activities.    
• Lessons will include readiness skills such as language, writing, and reading development, number concepts, fine and gross motor skills, various bible stories & lessons, STEM activities, and creative growth opportunities.
• All lesson plans will have options and guidelines that can be completed at your own pace. These lesson plans will have many options to choose from. Ideally, these are written for parents to work with their children 1-3 days a week. A link to videos of teachers reading books in the lesson plan will be provided, or you may read the stories with your child if you have a copy at home.
• Each set of weekly lesson plans will have various skill levels to be adjusted for individual learning. Parents can determine what modifications should be made for their children with some recommendations. The targeted ages will be 2-5 years old.
• A link to a private St. Catherine's Preschool YouTube channel will highlight various aspects of the lesson plans. The teacher may read stories, do virtual science experiments, teach a mini-lesson, or provide additional links for extended learning. Virtual field trip videos may include a teacher sharing her chickens; we have backyard chickens!
• The At Home Preschool lessons will be emailed in advance, allowing you to gather any needed materials. Check your email for a new and exciting set of At Home Preschool lesson plans. Following our preschool calendar, you will receive detailed plans each week, September through May. 
• Families can opt in or out at any time!

October Lessons:  Apples & Pumpkins, Castles, Monsters, and Halloween
November Lessons: Circus, Nursery Rhymes, Foodie Folktales, Thanksgiving
December Lessons: Gingerbread, Christmas, and the Nativity

January Lessons: Five Senses, Dinosaurs, Space, and Bedtime
February Lessons: Homes, Friends & Valentines, Community Helpers, and Transportation
March Lessons: Rodeo/Camping, Farm, Plants, and Easter
April Lessons: Lifecycles, Insects, Pets, and Bears
May Lessons: Sports, Ocean, Pirates & Mermaids, and ABC's
