St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church is looking for someone to serve as a Part Time Administrative Assistant in the parish office. This position will require no more than 25 hours per week. The Masterworks Singers and Orchestra, conducted by Dr. H. Morris Stevens, Jr. will perform the premiere of the commissioned work Aeterna Via by award-winning composer Elaine Hagenberg at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. This concert will feature the new 7-movement Aeterna Via plus other selections evoking emotions of hope, healing, and peace. The concert is free. There will be a free-will offering collected.
The Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help begins on Friday, May 8. Novena prayer cards will be available in the narthex and you can click the link to access it on our website. Saint Catherine of Siena was a Third Order Dominican known for her contemplation and prayer—as well as her involvement in Church and civil affairs. During the time when there were two and three popes each claiming the papacy, Saint Catherine sided with Pope Urban VI. She was named a Doctor of the Church in 1970. Dear Parishioners, I wish to inform you that I am retiring as Pastor of St. Catherine’s in December of this year. A new Pastor will be appointed and he will take up office in January, 2027. I will be retiring to the John Paul II Priest’s retirement center in Georgetown. With love, Fr. Pat.
Fr. Pat has written a letter updating information on sanctuary improvements, including replacing the HVAC system, Cupola repairs and roof replacement. As we prepare for Easter, there are many activities this week at St. Catherine. On Thursday, our Holy Thursday Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. On Good Friday, Family Stations of the Cross will be held at 10:00 a.m., the Stations of the Cross will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the Church. The Passion Service will take place at 7:30 p.m. On Holy Saturday, we will have the Blessing of the Easter food baskets at 9:30 a.m. in the Day Chapel. We will have an Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. on church grounds. The Easter Vigil Mass will be held at 8 p.m. The Parish Offices will be closed Thursday, April 17 through Monday, April 21.
Would you like to remember a loved one through a memorial gift of Easter lilies? Your loved one's name will appear on the decorative donation board in the narthex to be displayed during the Easter services.
